About Matthew

I have built my reputation in the real estate industry for over 20 years as the Owner and President of Nostalgic Homes. I have recently expanded the scope of my operation and am now also a licensed real estate agent looking to specialize in the Brockville Area.

I was fortunate enough to know what I wanted to do at an early age and be surrounded by dedicated people to encourage my interest. It was an art project in grade seven on drawing house elevations in perspective. I was hooked from the start. My mental escape came from drawing and designing ever more elaborate plans for my future dream home.

University involved studies in industrial design, urban planning, architectural design, building science, estimating, scheduling and project management culminated in my Degree in Architectural Science.

My first job after graduation was in the City of Brockville Building Division of the Planning Department. I was tasked with completing plans examinations, issuing permits and conducting site inspections for Ontario Building Code Compliance. This provided me seven years of practical on-site experience with various building systems, components, regulations, requirements, contractors, trades people and the public.

My dream of starting my own custom design and build firm cut short my public servant tenure and Nostalgic Homes was born. I love working extensively, hand-in-hand with clients to see their new home dreams become a reality. I have been truly blessed by the trust my clients have placed in my abilities and processes.

My latest achievement is becoming a licensed Sales Representative at Sutton Essential Realty Brokerage. I had not been pleased with the level of commitment, education and professionalism I received from realtors over my 20+ years of designing, building and selling award-winning homes. I could do much better myself. More comprehensive knowledge, inventive marketing solutions and effective results.
